Great software, very useful and easy. Is there a way to make the program window and especially the browse window remember it's position on the screen and whether it's fullscreen or not? E.g. when I open the browse window (which remembers it's size) and I made it bigger previously, its starts up in the lower right corner and the buttons are not accessible. I have to move and resize the window every time I open it. Running 1.45 under Win7 x64. Cheers.

Thanks for the research Sean.
The problem is probably in the autoupdater.
I will try to fix the issue in the next version.

Let me also balance out the above bug report by saying I love the software, especially the new speed on TvDb. It works great and I can't wait until Mono fixes the volume bug so I can use it on my Mac as well. Good job.

I just fired up a VM loaded with a MD5 tool and did a test. To make sure I wouldn't have to worry about UAC causing any issues, this VM was set up with Windows XP SP3.

If you start from 1.4.4 and upgrade to 1.4.5, there are three changes.

EpNamer.exe and EpNamer.exe.config change size and checksum, CSharpZipLib.dll is replaced by ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.

None of the other files change, including the old 24Kb TvDbLibrary.dll from 1.4.4 which is left untouched.

If I then overwrite the installed files with those from the "executable only" zip package, there are again three changes.

This time AutoUpdater.dll, AutoUpdateStarter.exe, and most importantly TvDbLibrary.dll change from the versions left after upgrading a 1.4.4 to 1.4.5 using the MSI.

I then reverted the VM to a snapshot taken before initially installing 1.4.4, downloaded the 1.4.5 MSI installer, and checksummed the files again.

Comparing this version, the AutoUpdater.dll and AutoUndateStarter.exe are once again different, but all of the files important to EpNamer's operation are identical.

From these results, my guess is that the installer script is not set up properly for the upgrade path. The installer does not seem to correctly overwrite TvDbLibrary.dll, thus causing the error for those of us who upgraded from 1.4.4 and possibly older versions.

I've saved the MD5s and file size/date info from all the steps and uploaded them here if anyone would like to verify my results: http://pastebin.com/fe2d3655

I had 1.4.4 installed from the .msi package, then when the autoupdater notified me I let it download and install 1.4.5. This was approximately an hour before my last post. At this point the copy of TvDbLibrary.dll in my installed directory was 24Kb. Possibly something in the upgrade process did not work right?

I've just downloaded the zip and installer from the website and used WinMerge to do a binary compare, AutoUpdater.dll and AutoUpdateStarter.exe do differ, but the rest are the same. TvDbLibrary.dll is 15kb in both for me.

I get the same error as The Fonz with the installer version (as downloaded by the autoupdater approximately 30 minutes ago). Naming convention is "SSxEE - Title.ext"

Replacing the installed files with the binary package fixes it.

I took MD5s of the directory with the installer-sourced files and with the binary zip package. AutoUpdater.dll, AutoUpdateStarter.exe, and TvDbLibrary.dll all differ between the two packages. TvDbLibrary.dll is significantly different in size between the two packages as well (24Kb in the installer, 14.5Kb in the zip), so this is likely where the problem lives for those using the installer.

It seems the browse folder problems/restrictions are another Mono bug that has been logged here...

Ok Guys, I've had a quick look and it seems the problem has been introduced in the new version of Mono 2.6.1.

I can confirm EpNamer works fine when running Mono version 2.4.2.3.
Older versions of Mono for OSX can be found here...
http://mono-project.com/OldReleases

I will try to found a workaround to make it work with the latest release of Mono, but for now people will have to use the old version.

UPDATE: This is a known issue in the latest Mono, we will have to just wait for them to release a version with a fix.
